Continuity Planning and Emergency Procedures
The reality of terrorist attacks in London and Glasgow and governments around the world openly saying that further attacks are probable and that global warming is a significant threat to the security of each nation it must make sense to factor measures into your companies forward planning that will limit the impact of such events on future business development.
We ave worked closely with both the Scottish Ambulance Service and the Hereford and Worcester Ambulance Service NHS Trust in respect of planning for the health and safety of their employees, we have also been heavily involved with Kenyon International Emergency Services in providing their standard operating procedures to enable them to work with Local Authorities in the UK to assist them to cope with emergency scenarios.
UK health and safety law requires all employers to have an emergency plan in place for the safety of their employees and we are able to help your organisation to comply with this requirement by working with you to not only to plan for the protection of your employees but also by prudent business continuity planning to minimise the financial implications of an emergency affecting your company.
The
first health and safety team into Thailand
We worked with Kenyon International Emergency Services to assist them provide temporary mortuary backup services at Taukua Pa and Krabi, Kenyon and the purpose built International Repatriation Centre close to Phuket airport.
Kenyon First Responders went into Thailand on the 27th December 2005and we received a request to assist on site on 6th January 2006, the main concern of Kenyon Managers was that the Thai Authorities were using chemical sprays to deal with flies, mosquitoes and smells and no-one knew what chemicals were being used particularly as some had been donated by countries such as China and deciphering container labels was the main difficulty.
However within a week of arriving on site we had managed to locate the suppliers of 95% of the chemicals being used and obtained safety data sheets in English from which we could provide advice on the PPE that was necessary.
We also provided general safety advice for Kenyon employees on all three sites, it was a challenging task but good to have been able to assist Kenyon personnel return home free from injury or disease.
